Arizona Takes Action On Illegal Immigrants

The Governor of Arizona Jan Brewer on Friday signed into law a bill that supporters said would take handcuffs off police in dealing with illegal immigration in Arizona, the nation's busiest gateway for human and drug smuggling from Mexico and home to an estimated 460,000 illegal immigrants. The supporters of this measure felt this was necessary due to the lack of a solution from the federal government.
Law enforcement officials will now have the authority to detain, prosecute and eventually deport undocumented immigrants. Many people in our country view illegal immigration as an economic problem that costs Americans jobs and depresses their wages. I for one believe if you want to be here you are welcome only if you abide by our laws and not undermine or circumvent the system. Everyone's comments are welcome.

Jobless claims were up 18,000 last week. A decrease of 1,00 was forecast and expected.The March 27 week's number was corrected to show 3,00 more jobs were lost. This is the root of our problem. We need to fix it. Together we can do it. It's about communication. Look for... the products made here. Search for the businesses that employ US citizens.Spread the word people!!

Job Creation.. Who Needs Our Help Most?

The private sector(small businesses) are the backbone of our economy. Today's numbers show the loss of 23,000 private sector jobs during this past month of March with a revision downward to 24,000 losses for February versus 20,000 originally reported. What do these figures show us? In my view, it is clear that the group that employs the most people and creates the most jobs in this country is still in a struggle. We are the answer! We are the missing piece to this puzzle. Look for the US business that is employing fellow Americans! Search for products you use that are Made in th USA! BY HELPING THEM WE ARE HELPING OURSELVES!!

The Senate voted yesterday to give tax credits to businesses that hire unemployed Americans. This is definitely a step in the right direction in my view. What can we do to help job creation for Americans get momentum. Any ideas? Please share them.

I completely understand the reason behind trying to save a buck. What we, as a country, have now is a situation that has spun out of control. My feeling is that the majority of what we produce is of superior quality compared to most imported items. Add the fact that we ...are all economically tied to each other and the decision to search for American produced items or businesses that employ Americans is an easy one to make. Do you agree? Consumer spending accounts for about 70 percent of economic activity.

We Need Job Creation!!

October's unemployment numbers are in and they are not what we were hoping for. These figures indicate that our trend is heading in the wrong direction. The stimulus did give our economy a short-term boost, but the negative trend continues. as does the debate. Is stimulus spending going to create the foundation for sustained growth and demand? I for one hardly think so.

Today the Office of Advocacy’s Small Business Profile for the United States, provides details about small business employment, business starts and closings, bank lending in 2008, the demographics of business ownership, and firm and employment change by major industry and firm size.
“The United States continues to depend on the health and ingenuity of its small business sector for the nation’s economic growth,” said Susan Walthall, Acting Chief Counsel for Advocacy. “In today’s economic climate, it is especially important for policymakers to keep small business concerns in mind as they formulate policy.”

There are 8200 US Banks, 8000 Will Be Exempt From Annual Examinations?

Tha House Financial Services Committee approved an exemption for 8000 of this country's banks from annual examinations by the new Consumer Financial Protection Agency. I for one am curious as to why our representatives would be willing to allow so many banks to go about their business without any regular examinations to confirm the public is not being taken advantage of.
